Once an electrical system is installed we all seem to forget about it. There it sits for years and years and nobody qualified checks it or maintains it. Would you do this with your car, or boiler? No. Sometimes prevention is better than a cure. For example old flourecent tubes in a light fitting can eventually damage the fitting if they are not replaced before they fail. This then will cost far more to repair than just changing the tube in the first place.
