Periodic Inspections
This was once a fuse board adjacent to the one still intact. Due to a loose connection it caused over heating within the board and then a fire. This may have been prevented if a periodic inspection had been carried out on this property. Periodic inspections are a requirement of BS7671 on all installations. They are a full examination of each circuit of the electrical installation.
The tests include;
A visual examination of accessories (i.e cracked or broken sockets), Polarity check. A check of how sound the terminations of the conductors into accessories are. A check of the complete earthing system of the installation. The tests are made in accordance with BS7671 to help prevent the risk of electrical shock & fire. A full NIC EIC report is issued to the client with details of the circuits which have been examend, and a report on any observations and recomendations.
